S.T.E.A.M. and S.P.L.A.T.

There are two new things next week: Mohawk is having a STEAM Day (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) on Thursday, May 3, for students in Grade 6 from Rowe, Hawlemont, and the Mohawk elementary schools. Look for a permission slip coming home this week. It looks like it’s going to be fun. And S.P.L.A.T.! Circus (Sparkle Pants Ladies Action Theater) is bringing their acrobatic spectacle to Rowe for a performance next Friday, May 4, at 1:30. Everyone is invited!
Be sure to catch a hard-hitting Rowe Phoenix baseball game, check the newsletter for dates and times.
There are a couple meetings coming up that I encourage you to attend: the Parent-Teacher Partnership (PTP) is meeting Tuesday, 5/8 at 8 a.m., and the Rowe School Committee meets Monday, 5/14 at 5 p.m. before the Rowe Town Meeting. Both organizations do so much for the school, in different ways.
As I mentioned before vacation, there is a lot going on, so please check the calendar in the newsletter and on the website for updates.
We are right in the middle of the MCAS tests for grades 3-6, here’s some information on how families can help students before and after the tests. I hope you find it useful:  http://teachers.sduhsd.net/acamacho/Files/STANDARDIZED%20TESTING%20TIPS%20FOR%20PARENTS.pdf
