It has been a crazy weather week, I’m sorry that I have to be the bearer of bad news (or good news, depending on your perspective). I always send the cancellation or delay message out by phone and email, if you’re not getting one or the other, please let us know.
We had a great day Thursday, with students spending the day outside doing science-related activities. Ted Watt, our friend from the Hitchcock Center, joined us, and we had a great day of learning.
I came across a reading website the other day that listed the five reasons to read aloud with your child (of any grade) every day, and I couldn’t agree more. Here are the reasons they listed. Reading aloud to your child every day:
1. Helps your student develop a love of reading
2. It develops their imagination
3. It increases their literacy skills
4. Is great quality time
5. They LOVE it!
If you’re looking for book suggestions, ask your student’s teacher, ask me, or ask the librarian…we’ll all be glad to help.
