Next week is interesting…

Everyone had lots of fun at Tailgate Trick or Treat last Friday, and at the Community Pot Luck right after. A good time was had by all.  It was great that so many could share a dinner together.
Conferences are here! Family conferences are happening next week: Wednesday, 11/7 from 3:30-6:30, and Thursday and Friday, 11/8 or 11/9, from 12:30-3:30. Call Laurie to set up your time. Please note: next week is an unusual week. We have a full day of school on Monday, 11/5, no school on Tuesday, 11/6, a full day of school on Wednesday, 11/7, and 12:30 release days on Thursday and Friday, 11/8 and 11/9. Got all that? Call us if you have questions.
The kick-off to the study of Poland was exciting and informative. We had a delicious luncheon of Polish specialties, and Wayne Zavotka and Mr. Crean played some Polish music for us. The Director of the Polish Center of Discovery and Learning in Chicopee is visiting the school on Wednesday, 11/7, and the K-6 students will visit the Center on Monday, 11/9. Polish paper artist Susan Urban is visiting on Wednesday, 11/14. Save the date: the performance is on Thursday, 12/13.                               We will be using Blizzard Bags again this year to reduce the number of days we have to make up due to cancellations caused by snow. Thank you to those families that provided feedback about last year’s process.
I found an interesting article on how to make the most of family conferences. I hope you find it useful: http://mindfullifetoday.com/how-to-make-the-most-of-your-parent-teacher-conferences/?mc_cid=96c8c47b98&mc_eid=7365f01eea
