Hello, Rowe School families!
I hope your summer is as relaxing and rejuvenating as you hoped it would be. School starts in a few weeks, and while much of this information is included in the packet you will receive next week, I wanted to highlight a few things.
School will begin at 8:20 on Wednesday, August 30, with all three days that week being 12:30 release days (12:15 for Preschool), and lunch will be served. There will be no after school child care that first week. A few quick schedule notes: The Family Handbook will been sent out with the packet mid-August. It will contain important information about the upcoming school year, as well as forms for you to fill out and return to the school. The forms provide us with information we need to keep our records organized and to keep your student safe and learning. Tuesday, 9/5 is our first full day of school, 8:20-3:20 for grades K-6, 8:20-3:00 for Preschool. Please note the morning schedule for students: students are welcome anytime after 7:30, breakfast is served 8:05-8:20, the school day will begin at 8:20 with the Pledge in the cafeteria, students will be in classrooms by 8:25.
Our first Professional Learning Day is Wednesday, September 20, with a 1:50 p.m. release. These days are set up for teachers to have time to work together to collaborate, plan and receive professional development, all with the aim of providing our students with the best education possible. They are listed on the school calendar and will be on the school’s website shortly. Free after school childcare is available on all Professional Learning days from 1:50-3:30. Please contact Laurie in advance to let her know you will need childcare. We are also working on some after school activity programs, and will get the information to you as soon as it’s available. Please call 413-512-5100 or email firstname.lastname@example.org at the school if you have any questions.
A reminder that our Central Office services are provided by the North Berkshire School Union (NBSU), which in addition to Rowe serves elementary schools in Florida, Clarksburg and Savoy. The Central Office is located at 98 Church Street, North Adams, and Superintendent Jon Lev, Director of Special Education Deborah Rosselli and Business Manager Carrie Burnett can be reached at 413-664-9292.
As we look forward to the new school year, I know that by working together, we can make it a great year for everyone. I’m looking forward to seeing you and your student(s) soon.
