We’re looking forward to tomorrow’s hike up Negus Mountain in Rowe, and thank you in advance to the chaperones who will be hiking with us. The Preschool visited Pine Hill Orchard this week, and learned about apples and cider. Our next field trip is Friday, October 19, when the K-6 students will be spending the day at Red Gate Farm in Ashfield.

Two things are coming home this week that will be informative. Families of students in grades 4-6 will receive their Spring 2018 MCAS results. Please look it over, and contact your student’s teacher if you have questions. There is also a letter indicating the number of days absent or tardy for your student so far this year. Please try to have your student at school on time, it makes a difference.

The PTP is meeting next week. Look elsewhere in this newsletter for information about upcoming plans and about the PTP in general. The organization does so much for the school, and will only be strengthened by more participation. I encourage you to consider participating in a way that works for you. Their meeting is Wednesday, October 10 at 8:00 am.

One big event the PTP helps organize each year is the Tailgate Trick or Treating, which will happen at the school on Friday, October 26th, at 5:30 pm, followed by a Community Pot Luck Dinner at 6:15 pm. If you’re new to the school, ask someone about Tailgate Trick or Treating.  It’s a fun Rowe School tradition. You can always call the school for more information.

The Primary Class Penny Fair is coming! Thursday, October 18th! Games, music, food, and fun! Proceeds benefit Animal Rescue. Save the date!

With the long weekend coming up, here’s a link to a great list of things to do in Western Mass. with kids:
