Great to see everyone at conferences

It’s always encouraging to see so many families join us for conferences, it’s an important time for parents, guardians, and teachers to work together to figure out how best to help our students as learners both at school and at home. This year, also, conferences were a time to hear about the Blizzard Bag program that we’re planning to pilot this year. Please let me or your student’s teacher know if you have questions. More information will be coming home soon.

We’re starting the work in each classroom, and in our specials classes, to learn more about the culture, art, music, geography, and history of Canada. This year’s performance will be Thursday, December 16th – save the date! Ask your student what they are learning about Canada.  You might be surprised at what you learn!

Thre was a lot to digest in the materials that went home regarding the MCAS results for students who took the tests last spring. Let me know if you have any questions.

With our focus on Project Based Learning (PBL) this year, I thought it might be helpful to send this article that gives a quick explanation of PBL. You could use it to start a conversation with your student. I hope you find it interesting:
