Great job, Rowe School! We raised over $1000 for hurricane relief efforts in Texas, Florida and Puerto Rico. An extra round of applause to the 3/4 class, who raised the most money: $464.85! They win a pizza party for their efforts. Thanks to everyone who participated, and to Rich Hamilton and the PTP for organizing a bottle and can drive that raised an additional $75. We are small but mighty! We had over fifty children at Tailgate Trick or Treat last Friday, and over seventy people at the Community Pot Luck right after. A good time was had by all. It was great to see so many people sharing dinner together.
Conferences are here! Family conferences are happening next week: Monday, 11/6 from 3:30-6:00, and Tuesday or Wednesday, 11/7 or 11/8, from 12:45-3:30. Call Laurie to set up your time. Please note: next week is an unusual week. We have a full day of school on Monday, 11/6, a 12:30 release on Tuesday, 11/7 and Wednesday, 11/8, no school on Thursday, 11/9 (it is a Professional Development day) and no school Friday, 11/10 due to the Veteran’s Day holiday. Got all that? Call us if you have questions.
The kick-off to the study of Canada was exciting and informative. We had a delicious luncheon of Canadian specialties, and Mary Jo Maichak, out artist in residence, performed for the whole school and worked with each class. We’re looking forward to seeing her again.
